Paternity tests are genetic tests in which 17 selected sections of DNA obtained from a mouth swab are analysed and then compared between the tested persons (a sample of the alleged father, child or mother). In this way, we determine the probability of paternity (more about the principle of paternity testing).
This paternity test does not involve verifying the identity of the persons tested and is for personal purposes only, so it cannot be used in court or for legal acts. The persons tested may be FATHER and CHILD or FATHER, CHILD and MOTHER. In both cases, the cost of the test remains the same. It is also possible to establish paternity for more than one child - each additional child for an additional fee of CZK 2,500. The same additional fee (CZK 2,500) is charged for each additional person for whom the test will be performed (additional putative father, etc.). DNA collection is done by the test persons themselves, from an oral swab, using a collection kit that we will send you by mail for this purpose.
The result of the paternity test includes:
- test identification data (case number, sample numbers tested)
- listing of 17 DNA sections tested
- verbal evaluation of the test result, including the probability with which paternity is confirmed or ruled out
What will be the procedure after ordering the test?
During the paternity test, we will analyse a sample of your DNA, which we will obtain from the cells in your mouth. You will do the collection yourself with a fine toothbrush, which we will send to you by post after you have placed your order (you will receive collection kits for the number of people you have chosen, including instructions on how to proceed). Sampling is painless, safe and quick. We always test two independent samples for maximum reliability of results (i.e. you swab twice). You will then send the collected samples back to our laboratory. Within 2 or 5 days (depending on your chosen test option) of receiving the samples from us, you will receive the test results.
